We lacked the toughness in 2004, the talent in 2005, the toughness in 2006, and both in '07. Are we disagreeing about something?

This is only our fifth year under Tedford. The rest of the Pac-10 has been doing this a lot longer than us, and our recruiting and facilities are still expanding. So yes, both talent and toughness need some work.

Re: Action Jackson Preview, Week 10

2004? You mean the season TEXAS TECH ran all over Cal in the Holiday Bowl? lol, sounds like you really got jobbed there.

Just like a typical PAC-1 fan: all you can do is whine and come up with excuses when the fact of the matter is you lack the talent and toughness to actually go anywhere in the league. Wah, wah. Every team faces injury issues. Some teams just don't have what it takes to deal with it. Maybe y'all need to get rid of those damn tree-huggers first.

Re: Action Jackson Preview, Week 10

Uhh, remember 2004? 11-1 and then hosejobbed out of the Rose Bowl?

2005 we had a terrible QB.
2006 we had a youthful offense and a slightly inconsistent defense.
2007 our defense has been terrible and Longshore has been unable to push off on his ankle for a month.

It has nothing to do with mental toughness. Perhaps mental stubbornness (the playcalling has been painfully predictable this past month), but I think we have to realize that we'll always be in a position to break through. And one of these years it'll happen.

Re: Action Jackson Preview, Week 10

2005: Started 5-0, Finished 2-4
2006: Started 8-1, Finished 1-2
2007: Started 5-0, Currently 1-3
---------------------------------
Start: 18-1, Finish: 4-9

Are we noticing a trend? Tedford teams lack the mental toughness needed to succeed under the spotlight. Enjoy the Las Vegas Bowl.
