    I didn't know Brooke personally, but seeing as how she was actually in the marching band only a couple years before me, I knew people who did. While I don't want to disparage a nice girl's reputation with second-hand stories, I will say that, by all accounts, Playboy's airbrushing people can do wondrous things.

    Still, a very lovely lady. If this site becomes nothing more than 'pictures of hot women who actually attended Cal', it'll still be pretty entertaining.

    Dude, of course it's airbrushed. You expect anything from Playboy to be totally authentic?

    Even so, airbrushed or not, I'd totally be for whatever cause was on her mind.

    I remember walking through Sproul Plaza during Spring Break in '99 (I think) with my advisor. She was being photographed on the steps of Sproul Hall. My advisor had a bad case of rubber next at that moment. A day later, she was being photographed in VLSB by the T-Rex! At the time we had no idea who she was or what was going on.

    Sorry ragnarok, but the people who told you that are full of crap. She was in the band for a total of maybe 3 months in 1999, and nobody who knew her would have been around when you came along. The last of us left in mid 2001.

    I started Cal as a freshman in fall 1999 and stayed at Unit 3 on Durant. The smoke shop up the street had a signing session for the girls of the Pac 10 issue and I went there with my roommates to get a copy signed. I remember Brooke was one of the girls and she was wearing very heavy makeup as were the other girls there, including a really creepy girl who looked 14 and had braces but was apparently legal enough to be featured naked in the magazine. Anyway, Brooke signed her photo in my issue, "Brooke Burke. -Nice ass"

    Interested, I asked 2 classmates who lived at the band house directly below her room and they said, "Dude, she's dumb as shit." And possibly so since apparently she left/dropped out of Cal a few months later. Dang.

    My ex was personally obsessed with her. His biggest acheivement in life was "almost having sex" with her because she was at a party and supposedly wanted to hook up with someone. He firmly believes that she would have hooked up with him. In reality, all his friends laugh because they know that would never have happened. She was best friends with one of his friends. Her best friend did heavy drugs and she did the same. She even told one of his friends she would only eat 1 piece of bread a day because they told her she wasn't skinny enough.
