Bears Necessity: The Bears are Roaring: Arizona Previews

I'm not so concerned with Best and Vareen's lack of size in the backfield. Bears with Fangs has a good point that Gerhart and Ferguson are both bigger, more powerful backs - however, I don't think that Stanford or UNM's offensive lines are near the same quality of Cal. Especially given the mismatch between Mack and UA's smaller tackles, Cal should be able to control the inside running game and get to the second level.

Of more concern to me is the spread offense. It has always been effective against Cal, including last years team which featured the exact same linebacking core as this years team. Cal has shown that it is able to effectively generate pressure rushing 3 or 4, but it will be matter more of disrupting Tuitama in the pocket than matching up with the recievers downfield with our LB's. However, I do agree that we should make anyone who catches the ball over the middle pay dearly for it.

Looks like you were right on here London Bear. Even Cal's very effective
pass rush did not stop Tuitama from having a monster game up the middle. We
got beat on some big yardage plays in that awful 3rd quarter.
