    Maybe cross-posting would be more applicable to a Bears Necessity LJ -- not so much to the UC Berkeley LJ comm. Campus news sites like Calstuff (or, well, other and more recently updated weblogs) maintain their separate feeds instead of channeling their material through the UCB community; this approach seems to work better in that it isn't so easily construed as spam.
