Bears Necessity: Which Tedford Team Was Your Favorite?

    Well, obviously the 2004 team easy to like considering they were so dominant. But I sort of liked the 2002 "virgin" experience, and the 2006 team. The 2002 team was so fun to watch because that was my first year, and because it became very obvious that Tedford was special. The hope of the team's 70 point opener win and the upset of Michigan State set the tone of the team for the next 2 years. And the 2006 team, while not as dominant as the 2004 team, came extremely close to the Rose Bowl. Desean Jackson was a thrill to watch when he returned punts and BEAST MODE was incredible.

    The 2004 team with Rogers at the helm was the best Cal team since the 1991 Citrus bowl winning team. They should have gone to the Rose Bowl. They were set to go, but that little f**king weasel Mack Brown slithered his way through the BCS and stole the invitation from us. That year featured the great game against USC in LA. Although they lost the TV commentators said"the best team did not win today".

    2004. Chico Bears. Go Rogers. Go Cross. Exciting to see two local kids make good. Nothing to match that!

    yeah, i've got to concur with the last two commenters: 2004 was my favorite team, although the '02 team will always have a special place in my heart for turning things around, and the '03 team for finally winning a bowl game.

    I pretty much think everyone agrees, 2002 and 2004 were far and away the most enjoyable Tedford teams. The 2002 team was enjoyable because there were no expectations and they performed so well. The 2004 team was enjoyable because, at least in the regular season, the team was able to match the high expectations everyone placed on them. All of that said, my favorite game is the 2003 upset of USC.
